Anyone know if my 94 dakota 3.9 with 5 speed manual will work and hook up to everything in my 99 dakota 3.9 Automatic?

Use the 99 intake and exhaust manifolds, and be sure to pull the pilot bearing. You may have to swap other sensors too.

Check your state rules. It may be against the law, and maybe against federal law, to put an older engine in a newer vehicle, due to emissions being higher, or unknown. If it's against federal law, it does not matter if your state has emissions testing or checks.

OP: Often, when doing such swaps, you can't use "everything" (like sensors, fuel systems, etc.); especially from the mid-90s when OBD and other electronics were in such flux. But, you can usually swap the long-block from the engines during this time. There are probably a lot more electronic sensors and control systems on the 99 than the 94 has, but the actual engine shouldn't have changed much as they are both "Magnums."
