Thank you for posting all your PT issues and fixes. It has helped me alot with my daughters PT. I have an issue with the car setting the p1188 code as pending. When I am on the freeway at 60mph then accelerate hard it sets the code permanent. Driving around town it seems to be fine and accelerating on to the freeway it's good and does not set the code.
2003 GT with 209,000 mi.
The car was a given to her and was in drivable condition but would not pass CA smog test at one point it had 14 codes set. It was previuosly worked on by several people. she took it to a shop and they refused to touch it.
So I got the honor. Long story short after checking grounds and continuity for signal lines I bought a refurbished computer from ACR. That took care of every thing except o2 sensor. I replaced the down stream sensor since the code was for that one. Even though the sensor tested good. low and behold that cleared the issue.
So now p1188.
I checked the vacuum lines as best I could, none physically damaged.
I have checked the voltage at the TIP sensor 5.0v pin 3, 4.86v pin 1 and 0v on pin 2.
The 3 solenoids Tip, Wastegate and Surge clicked when power applied and measured aprox. 30 ohms.
Now I'm looking to replace the 3 solenoids but having a hard time finding them. The wastegate is listed but not the others.
Does anyone know if the solenoids are the same? Even though the part numbers are different.
TIP 460659AA,Surge 4606598AA, Wastegate 4606597AA
So the question is are they interchangable?
Also the Cam and Crank codes get set when p1188 code is set. p0340,p0335.
