Blew head gasket on the PT. While I was there I did the timing belt and water pump. Put it back together with a no start. Took it back apart, one tooth off. Fixed that, rotated engine twice all lined up. Put it back together, now have a P0129 barometric pressure code, replaced sensor. No change. Has rough idle and when I press accelerator car runs real rough. Any thoughts?
You did not indicate the specific engine in your PT Cruiser. Do you have the 2.4 liter 4 cylinder turbo engine?
Code P0129 indicates out of range on the barometric pressure sensor. When you performed the head gasket replacement maybe a wiring connector was not reattached to the MAP sensor or the throttle inlet pressure sensor or a vacuum hose is dislodged or broken.
See p. 88 here: http://oskin.ru/pub/chrysler-dodge/manuals/Service Manuals/2004_PL_Neon/18623-pl-powertrain_sgmldiag.pdf
It is for Neon, but the system is similar to PT. Review your Possible Causes. MAP is what gives the PCM the BARO signal before starting.
IAC must be plugged in and wiring must not be damaged. The \5 volts, signal and ground must be there.
Simple wiring diagram and connector pinouts are at the back of the book. Wire colors may be different, but should go to the same place.
AllanC - not turbo
Imperialcrown - will review link and start the hunt once it stops raining, Ugh
