So this ended up happening while he was replacing the oil filter on a car he just got

Is this a replaceable part like can I or can I just go get one from the junkyard which I’m thinking about doing?
I just noticed that one of the two pegs that hold the spring in is broken. Is it just about getting a new seal/O-ring for the tip and then just pushing this in until it seats?
