Read horror storie on how hard to change oil cooler plastic flawed design where filter screws into-cracks part---top oil pan gasket requires 1000 in labor to remove parts to get to etc.. Mechanic has motor arrived today yet to open look claims he will let me know tomorrow what I need ---concern is he is not as good as all of us here so I found issues in 1 hr search and decided to start new thread--I plan on changing
1. plugs
2. pcv valve
3. belt tensioner and pully and belts
4 radiator hoses and heater hoses
5. oil cooler if plastic?
6. Oil pan top ?
7. Oil pan bottom ? and gaskets
8 all injectors
9 coils?
10 valve covers and gaskets cause mechanic said plastic he just changed one
What did I miss or do too much of in my guess?
no diagram from mopar of what is included with new l$5800 long block so lost on what to all do -thanks all I build these and dreamed about buying one for 12 years finally got a 2013 and now find the motor /head issue causing this expense---please help---and all mopar parts or ac/delco injectors for half price or?

If you're going to do all of #3 & #4, do you plan on doing the thermostat too?
While Mopar is always recommended, if you feel more comfortable choosing another brand (Such as AC/Delco as you mentioned), that's your prerogative. I'd rather go Mopar if I could afford it.
Also, unless you or your mechanic deems the upper oil pan as needing replacement, I don't really get the idea to replace it? The lower is steel and it easily rusts, the upper is aluminum and if the mating surface can't be cleaned off well enough to reseal, or it somehow became warped, I (personally, others may find or offer a better reason) don't see a need to replace it.
If you're replacing the oil filter adapter because it's plastic, does that mean you're going to a metal housing from Dorman or an alternate company, or do you not trust the one on either motor and just want a fresh one?
Spark plugs may be Iridiums. They should be good for 100K miles (160K km).
Fuel Injectors don't have a service interval. Normally they last the life of the vehicle.
If the Oil Filter Adapter/cooler isn't leaking. I would leave it. See if it's wet.
Use OAT coolant meeting Chrysler MS-12106 when you change the coolant. Mix 50/50 with distilled water.
With an unknown past maintenance history, you may want to change ATF & filter, t/case fluid, frt & rear diff fluids and cabin air filter.

Thanks for the thermostat idea- metal aluminum- but may reuse if not wet---as far as this cast upper pan--we need to take off the old motor and buy a gasket and I will replace lower pan gasket---will go mopar parts then--

update- mechanic opened box---no gasket set--need part number for long block set---claims new oil cooler installed---claims new oil pump--so oil pump is huge relief if it holds--
