Both MT and Left Lane are reporting Alfa Romeo Giulia will be on sale in 2014 with a multitude of engine choices.

Left Lane reports: "Regardless of what engine is found under the hood customers will be asked to choose whether they want power sent to the rear wheels or to all four wheels. This will mark the first time that Alfa offers a rear-wheel drive regular-production car since it phased out the 75 (sold as the Milano in the United States) in 1993."

Motor Trend says: "Expect the Giulia to offer all-wheel drive as an option to better appeal to American consumers in the snow belt. The sedan will be front-wheel drive normally, as it will ride on the same C US Wide platform that underpins the 2013 Dodge Dart"

So which is it, are we getting a RWD or FWD Alfa Romeo Giulia?

The thing from MotorTrend is what AutoCar is saying. We don't know what the Guila is going on, wether it will be RWD, AWD or FWD or on the new D EVO platform or a stretched CUSW platform. We really don't know anything about this car for certain.

My prediction: This car is going to be their 1st big fumble since joining forces in 09 if the FWD rumors are true. In an instant Alfa's hopes of becoming a viable BMW competitor will be dashed and Alfa will just be "an expensive" Fiat.

Of course, none of this will be true if its RWD (IMO)

The Alfa guys are saying if its FWD it will be the final nail in the coffin for Alfa. Sure it could end up being a better looking Audi A4, but it won't be no 3-series. And maybe thats all they are content with?
