It works on the older style - it should work very well on the new one...
Because in person they looks out of proportion and they are useless due to the Hemi's intake configuration.Jerry Simcik said:I thought you were confusing the (slightly similar) T/A scoop with the Six Pack scoop - but then I Googled it...

That looks amazing!!! (That's a Six Pack scoop, not the T/A scoop.) I can't see why you don't think these scoops fit the cars, especially the Charger; the openings in the scoop match the grille so well...
Was leaked long ago.jimboy said:Does this mean there will be no 300 with this this engine, or just that it hasn't been announced yet?
That, I cannot argue with.Mike V. said:IMHO "six pack" scoops ... look good on 1969 B-Bodies.
If someone wants to replace their factory intake manifold to make it work, that's their business.Jerry Simcik said:That, I cannot argue with.
In the case of the above hood, it was functional.

The only way to make that six pack scoop work "as designed" (sic) is to replace the intake manifold.Jerry Simcik said:Not sure what you were speaking about with the intake? Sure, leaving the factory box and tube allows only so much, but companies like Vararam have shown that if done right, you can get quite a performance boost from just changing the air intake.
Good for them... I've seen plenty without the opening cut or just ducting air at the engine. The Charger one I showed was functional too, though not to the same extent. It just ducted air to the factory air box location.
It is functional, it routes air to a shaker specific air box located in the normal position. The air filter in located in that box.Charger Red said:Not to continue the thread hijack theme (away from Charger) but isn't the Shaker on the challenger function wrt to cold air. I know that the ram effect is null unless you get that scoop up and over the dead air.
Back to Charger, how stupid would a new Charger look with a Shaker setup?
I agree. Even back in the day, six pack scoops looked like they were stuck-on because that's pretty much what was done - and it was always ugly on a vehicle like Charger that was more NASCAR than 1320 styled.Mike V. said:It is functional, it routes air to a shaker specific air box located in the normal position. A shaker on a Charger would look much better than a six pack scoop that looks stuck on the car.

We agree completely. I actually find the shaker 392 scat pack more appealing than the Hellcat.Charger Red said:I agree. I'm leaning towards a Shaker 392 vehicle because I'm attracted to being able to boast 500hp generation on the motor. If not anything else, the Shaker setup should be considered a cold air kit which would be good for an enhancement to the 485 rated hp but I digress....
I also find it more appealing visually. I wish there was a little more "Dodge Challenger" and a little less "SRT" in the Hellcat's look. But it is what it is, it works, and unless the pricing is absurd I'll buy one.Mike V. said:We agree completely. I actually find the shaker 392 scat pack more appealing than the Hellcat.

I love that people think the grille is shaped like a 70 Plymouth... It's not. There is an illusion to the pictures and the area people think is the "grille" is actually the flat part of the top of the bumper... But I digress. I'm sure I'll get flamed for it.georgejetson said:I also find it more appealing visually. I wish there was a little more "Dodge Challenger" and a little less "SRT" in the Hellcat's look. Perhaps, but they've got the best intake for the Rams (for two generations now).Mike V. said:If someone wants to replace their factory intake manifold to make it work, that's their business.

Vararam has a horrible name in the LX/Challenger community. Nothing but vaporware and promises they could not keep.

You are the expert... All I see is hack and whack.Jerry Simcik said:Perhaps, but they've got the best intake for the Rams (for two generations now).
And I'm not sure you've have to change the intake manifold, just the tube/plumbing... The entry on the LX cars is slightly akward, but it can be worked with. On the trucks, it's not a problem, because the intake is fed from the top.
I have no idea what you are trying to reference in this comment. The only reference I made to the original A12 cars is that it is the best car for that hood scoop. And the 69 1/2 Road Runner and Super Bee cars would disagree with you about your scoop comments...
Are y'all referring to the Hellcat or the regular SRT? Either way, I don't see the Plymouth styling either...redriderbob said:Ralph mentioned in the MotoMan video they used a little bit of Plymouth styling in the front end of the car.
Agreed. Superised that no even said anything about the HELLCAT picture I posted, but instead are talking about hood scoops.Jerry Simcik said:I think we need to take a step back. This and the Jeep thread are getting very twisted and convoluted and I don't think either of us are intending it to.
