Cloudy Michigan day, it looks almost like an army green...

Again here it is inside and note how dark it looks...

Another shade picture.

Direct sunlight on the trunk...
I used the third picture of the Challenger to copy the color from. It does seem to vary a lot between the shade and sunlight.

Similar, depends on lighting because in person F8 Green is a bit darker in true light and even darker in the shade. It's one of those colors that look like it can be three or four different colors depending on lighting.
Seems to me that a few of the colors are that way. Octane Red and Granite Crystal are two that come to mind right away.

FCA US Extends Officer Protection Package to 2018 Dodge Charger Pursuit

  • Officer Protection Package designed to prevent ambush of officers from the rear when parked and working in their vehicle
  • This safety technology first offered on the 2017 Dodge Charger Pursuit
  • Enhancements made to package’s capabilities for 2018 model year
July 24, 2017 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - FCA US LLC has enhanced the capabilities of its Officer Protection Package and has extended the program to 2018 Dodge Charger Pursuit law enforcement vehicles.

The Officer Protection Package is designed to increase an officer’s situational awareness when parked and working inside the Charger Pursuit.

Image

“The Officer Protection Package is the result of our continued focus on officer safety in our Charger Pursuit,” said Jeff Kommor, Vice President – U.S. Sales Operations, Fleet and Small Business Sales. “With critical input and guidance from our Police Advisory Board, we have enhanced the technology’s capabilities for the 2018 model year with additional sensors to provide officers with an expanded field of protection.”

First offered by FCA US and InterMotive Inc. on the 2017 Charger Pursuit, the Officer Protection Package will continue to be available at no cost to U.S. law enforcement agencies in the 2018 model year.

The Officer Protection Package uses InterMotive’s Surveillance Mode Module™ with FCA’s Fleet Safety Group technology – ParkSense rear park assist system, ParkView rear backup camera, and Rear Cross Path detection – to alert officers when movement at the rear of the vehicle is detected.

The Rear Cross Path detection is new to the package for the 2018 model year. This system warns drivers of lateral traffic when backing out of parking spaces. When InterMotive’s module is activated – by simply pressing the Aux 1 button on the steering wheel – these additional sensors will be turned on, significantly increasing the area monitored and providing additional security for the officer.

If and when the sensors detect motion, a chime will sound to alert the officer of potential danger in the area. The officer can immediately see what is behind the vehicle via the camera monitor. At the discretion of the law enforcement agency, the tripped sensors can initiate any or all of the following: a signal for the doors to lock, front windows to roll up, reverse lights to turn on and tail lights to flash, all automatically, giving the officer a few extra seconds to react to the situation.

The Officer Protection Package, provided by FCA US and InterMotive and easily installed (plug and play) by the law enforcement agency, is available effective immediately on all 2018 Charger Pursuit U.S. orders.

2018 Dodge Charger - What's New for 2018

SXT base trim level offers new standard content
• New 7.0” UConnect touchscreen featuring Android Auto, Apple Car Play and 1-Year Sirius XM standard
• Remote Start, Parkview rear back-up camera, Parksense rear park assist

SXT Plus w/ Super Track Pak
• Now includes Scat Pack hood, performance front and rear fascia, sculpted side sills, 3-piece body-color spoiler and 20x8” Granite Crystal wheels

New GT AWD models replace SXT AWD
• New standard content - 300-hp rating, Gloss Black fascia applique, 3-piece body-color spoiler, Dodge performance pages, performance steering wheel
Hey guys, big question for ya. I am eyeing a GT AWD. Is the Super Track Pak that gives the higher trim stylings availing for the GT trim or just for the rear wheel SXT? I know, I know, total poser option, but I love the styling and would get a Hemi AWD if it were still available (sadly not enough demand).

Also, for the 2017 model year, mix-matching packs sometimes conflicted on website builder, such as the RT Super Track Pak not combining with the Black Top package (conflicting wheel issues?). Is there a possibility of getting both on one order or should I just after market all the blacktop stuff?

GT AWD is not available with the Super Track Pak. However, GT AWD comes standard with much of the STP goodies, especially the same rear gear.

Thanks for the info! That's a darn shame. I really had my heart set on on the sportier stylings of the STP (front and rear end and those side skirts, yeah). Not to say that the standard Charger look still isn't plenty good looking. Unfortunately here in the northeast, if I'm gonna make it my daily driver, I want that AWD. Sigh.

The 2018 Charger GT AWD will look exactly like the 2017 Dodge Charger SXT AWD. However, you can now get the Blacktop package on the SXT AWD cars...

Here is a window sticker for a 2017 Dodge Charger SXT AWD Blacktop.... you will notice the car gets the 3.07 rear gear, but Dodge Performance Pages also come on the AWD model and if you opt for the AWD Plus Package its pretty much the same as the R/T STP car equipment minus the SRT front fascia, hood and side skirts. Which you could do aftermarket... also unlike the STP cars, you get a normal Scat Pack spoiler which isn't available on the STP cars.

Does the Blacktop package on the SXT AWD leave the silver SXT letters or is that just an error?

Thats just an error in the builder. All 2018 SXT AWD will be rebadged GT AWD anyway like the Challenger.

or in Blacktop's case....

All cars will also be carrying the "4" badge instead of AWD

Well crap. I was hoping there was a black SXT badge somewhere because I'd like to have that on my car instead of the silver one. I can get a black Charger badge but it wouldn't look right with a silver SXT one on the other side of the trunk!

I'd been wondering if they'd use the 4 emblem on the Charger. Glad to see it, looks nice.

Easy fix.... plastidip!

Yes, no more AWD on any Dodge models for 2018. Journey will also get the "4" badge. I just hope they black out the chrome 4 on blacktop models.

Emblems are a bleep to peel the excess, but otherwise I've had no problems with dip, myself.
I dipped the "Dodge" emblem on the tail light of my Challenger (and the grille surround and the spoiler) but had peeling issues when I tried to cut it.
Plastidip is fun if you know what you are doing...

Plasti dip is fun, it just makes me nervous because it feels like I'm spray painting my car...lol. I've dipped things on several cars including part of the bumper on my dad's Ram under the lower front grille.

I also dipped the spoiler on my Challenger because I liked the blacktop look, but when I decided to remove it I had to go buy some Goo Gone and waste several towels. Wasn't a fun day.

Also - sorry for veering us off topic.

I hear ya. I did my tail lights and spent a ton of time taping off and sprayed and they turned out really good. Until I turned the running lights on, I sprayed so heavy in certain parts it looked like I had a few LEDs burnt out. So I ripped it off and mind you I am not one with much patience. Before that I tried Plastidip smoke on them and it hazed me tail lights terrible. The key with plastidip is the more coats the better. Plus if you can find someone who is OCD and likes everything perfect get them to help you, they will have no problem spending as much time as possible to get the stuff off ;)
