It's confusing. Uconnect 5.0, 8.4, indicate screen size. Uconnect 430 being a 6.5" screen is odd.
PULEEEZ!!!! Confusion is what FCA radios are known for.......lol There is no logic in how they name anything at FCA.
When "Uconnect" first came out it was the name of the blue tooth....that was until it wasn't...lol
"Limited" used to mean upgraded pkg with leather....until it didnt(see Chrysler 200)
300C used to mean top of the line 300 with HEMI...until it didnt.....(Chrysler 300 2014-2017) But now it is a HEMI again in 2018

confusing......yep...lol

Everytime I hear someone longing for the good old days of cars when they were "made out of real metal" I show them a video on the net from 2009. It shows an Impala from 1959 test crashing verses a 2009 Impala. It simply blows my mind how far safety has come. Backup cameras are a safety item first and foremost.
Better solutions... who would have thought? Damn seatbelts. Airbags, radial tires, energy absorbing bumpers, blind spot radar, Wind Shield wipers, safety glass ...................... damn near every device has some sort of imaging chip down to $30 pads the idea that shouldn't be leveraged is comical. The exponential movement of technology is lost on many.

My favourite was those "Limited" Dodge Journeys with cloth interiors...

GT is the "Show" without the "Go", lol. When I was Durango shopping in Wasilla and Anchorage, there were a few GT's that caught my eye... I thought they were R/T's the way they were spec'd,... Brass Monkey/Blacktop packages. But I guess that IS the point. If you like the look of the R/T versus the SXT's or the Citadel, and don't want/need the Hemi or want better Gas Mileage, you don't have to ante up the 5-6 extra grand.

And to be fair,... with the 8-speed, the sixes are about as quick as my 13' Hemi was. So it's just a little less "Go",... But the SOUND is completely different, lol.

Or GT trims which are V6 models in every car. Nothing more "GT" about those cars than the SXT versions.
To preserve the R/T, the GT is the designation for the top of the line V6 models for the brand.

Charger GT = Performance AWD Sedan
Challenger GT = Performance AWD Coupe
Durango GT = Performance V6 SUV
Grand Caravan GT = Most Performance based minivan
Journey GT = top of the line V6 model.

Agreed @GasAxe regarding the named-trims for Dodge. (I don't recall if there were any for Chrysler during that time)

Ugh, imagine if Chrysler had a 200 with a Sebring trim!
lol - that'd be.. ugh. Would not help the way the media lambasted the poor thing.

This thread is about the 2018 Dodge Journey. It is not about the merits, or lack thereof, of backup cameras. It is not about state safety inspections.

If you cannot participate in the discussion of this topic without hostility, I recommend not posting.
