Over the past few months, Dodge has been using the Power Dollars program to help get rid of the last of the 2019 Challengers and Chargers, but starting today, the 2020 model year muscle cars are included in the discount program. This means that you can save up to $7,970 on a 2020 Challenger or $7,170 on a Charger, with every trim level in each model lineup being included in the program.

“Our Dodge performance enthusiasts are drawn together by their love of American muscle. And Dodge Power Dollars has tapped into something very powerful,” said Tim Kuniskis, Global Head of Alfa Romeo and Head of Passenger Cars – Dodge, SRT, Chrysler and FIAT, FCA – North America. “So we’re now making Dodge Power Dollars available on any 2020 model-year Charger or Challenger to make it even easier for our fellow horsepower addicts to join ‘The Brotherhood of Muscle.’”

The Power Dollars program remains relatively unchanged, with the key difference being the inclusion of 2020 model year vehicles. As was the case for 2019, the program offers a cash allowance of $10 per horsepower, so the V6 and naturally aspirated Hemi V8s have smaller discounts while the Hellcat models have larger discounts. Below is a rundown of the discounts for each model.

(Model – Horsepower Rating – Power Dollars Cash Allowance)
SXT – 292 - $2,920
SXT AWD/GT/GT AWD – 300 - $3,000
R/T – 370 - $3,700
Scat Pack – 485 - $4,850
Hellcat – 707 - $7,070
Hellcat Daytona 50th Anniversary Edition – 717 - $7,170

(Model – Horsepower Rating – Power Dollars Cash Allowance)
SXT/GT/GT AWD – 305 - $3,050
R/T – 375 - $3,750
Scat Pack – 485 - $4,850
Hellcat – 717 - $7,170
Hellcat Redeye – 797 - $7,970

Of course, the two biggest points here pertain to the top-of-the-line trim levels for each car. The extension of Power Dollars into the 2020 model year means that Redeye Challenger buyers can save almost $8,000, but more importantly, the widebody Charger is now included in the program as well. As a result, the widebody Hellcat Charger is effectively $7,070 less while the Scat Pack sedan with the wider body is $4,850 below MSRP.

This program went into effect for the 2020 model year today, but we don’t know how long it will last. Maybe it will continue through the year, but we don’t know for sure. With that in mind, if you are serious about buying a 2020 Challenger or Charger, now is a great time to do some shopping.
