2023 Wagoneer

I saw a new Wagoneer in the parking lot yesterday. Not a single "Jeep" badge anywhere to be seen, not even on the dealer license plate holder. Stellantis is definitely going to carve out a separate brand to compete with the Range Rover and up vehicles, for people who think they are too good to drive Jeeps.

I do believe the word jeep is in the headlights. Unless they changed it for 2023, but yeah. I’m not sure if it sad or not. I would consider the name and heritage good enough for most people
There are also the Jeep name plate on the side mirrors
This is what a Series I Wagoneer looks like. They won't sell many of these for $60,000.
I have a '23 GW and though it lacks the amount of Jeep badges of other Jeeps, there are some. And I think it is easily recognizable as a Jeep.
The original GW moved upscale without dropping the Jeep badges. I don't know why it's an issue now.
So far, I'm loving it. I thought I would miss my Durango HC but this truck is a dream to drive.
Wagoneer has to have an air of exclusivity, like being treated as its own division.
Wagoneer has its own section for service information at the dealer. Only Wagoneer-trained specialists can service the brand.
Like the old Imperials don't say 'Chrysler' anywhere. The only give-away is a Pentastar symbol found on some components.

But the problem is you’re going to the same service area, the same waiting area probably updated 20 years ago, and probably get told it’s a Jeep thing.
The whole service process needs a thorough redo.
Like the wood exterior for the Jeep area, they are putting lipstick on a pig.

Only certain dealers could sell & service Imperial. The Imperial franchise was offered to dealer who met certain high standards.
Everytime our place sold an Imperial, the sales dept was taken out for a steak dinner.

At its introduction inn 1960, the Valiant wasn't even referred to as a Plymouth. It was its own brand. It was quietly absorbed into the Plymouth line-up a year later.
