2024 Toyota Grand Highlander First Drive Review: Going Big On The Big Island

The Toyota has a cool cell phone shelf with USB plugs right in front of the passenger above the glove box. I would rather have that then one more stupid screen.
The passenger screen is pretty sweet, it allows a passenger to enter a navigation destination while the vehicle is in motion, then send that destination to the main screen.

Seems to be redundant to me. Why can't the driver just use voice commands to enter a new destination?
Because people don’t talk to their cars in a normal voice, which screws up voice recognition. I’ve watched friends who talk to Siri and Alexa try to use voice commands in cars and suddenly they have a robotic voice that isn’t recognized by the car.
I agree, voice recognition is a simple, less distracting option once people are used to it.

I know it varies by person, but I never fit comfortably in any Toyota seats. Now I haven’t tried a Highlander but past experiences in the last 2 generations of RAV4 and Camry and a few Tacomas usually leave me with a sore back after 1/2 hour no matter how i adjust the seat.
