Hey guys,
I'm having a few problems with the carb on my 245 hemi. It is installed in a VJ Valiant which I purchased in pretty bad condition, was running but just barely. I have just rebuilt the carb, now when it fires, fuel gushes out of the top of the barrels. Not knowing a great deal about Carbies in general it seems that there is too much pressure, leading me to believe that there should be some kind of return line to the tank but I can't seem to find anything. The only line in the engine bay I can find come from the tank, through the filter, to the pump and straight to the inlet on the carb.

So I guess the question is, should there be a return line plumbed into this circuit or do I have a carb / pump issue?

Thanks in advance

Normal cause of this issue is either too high fuel pump pressure or more common, something stuck in the needle valve at the carb inlet. Since you just rebuilt the carb, a mistake in setting the float setting is also possible.
