Changing Distributor Cap today along with new EGR & afew other tweaks - Old Distributor Cap Gasket disintegrated & has the cheap Aluminum innards - I want to Check Timing w/Timing Light after Changing Cap - Searched like crazy all over here yesterday & today but no joy - I promise I'll pick up at least a Haynes for this thing this week~!

There may be no ignition timing adjustment if it has a crank position sensor. Some distributor hold down slots were just a mounting hole for no adjustment. In this case, distributor position only determines fuel injector sync. Haynes has mostly been useless for detailed information like this.
The plug wire terminal placement may not be straight through to the terminal underneath. There are conductors molded into the cap to place the terminal some distance from where the wire plugs into the cap.

Interesting Cap ~! - I have Slot in Distributor ... It's dead center in adjustment range now - I just always checked it in past in case new Cap Indexes were a tad different than old Cap - Thanx again.
