Hi, I am rebuilding a 1968 318 (LA), the original Crankshaft is useable but is 0.30 oversized yet. I want to buy another one to have a spare, I saw in ebay a 500 bucks 1968 NOS, but other years are about the half of prize, I questioned the sales man about a 1973 318 Crankshaft but he said to me that a 1973 or later can´t be use in a 1968 block. It´s that true? I Think the Crankshafts were the same. Can you advice me? thanks

A 360 or magnum crank wont fit in a 273- 340 block.
- a 1973 crank would work but beware of the fact thats its probaly cast and externally balanced wich can cause problem with mismatched dampers and turbines. ( you cant use the ones you have, this may add to the bill so its better to get one that fits with exsisting part maybe.)
