I have no problem with the drivetrain at all with this truck. I finally rode in a 2025 Ram a few weeks ago with the turbo 6. Powerful and smooth and quiet.

What I have a problem with is how searingly ugly it is with all the tape strips and hideous black wheels. But hey looks are subjective......but even if I dont say it, that is one garish truck.

The tape stripes can be removed. The wheels are fine. Chrome wheels on this kind of truck look totally out of place. I despise chrome trim. The chrome billboard Ram letters on some of the trucks ruin the tailgate. There was nothing wrong with the Ram head. Everyone knew what it meant. I see more trucks without chrome than ever before.

I’m not a fan of the black either, but that’s something you can mitigate, to a degree, when there are other trims out there. But the big issues for me:
1) Ram’s watered down styling isn’t the draw the previous generations had.
2) the hood side emblems are still there.
3) Ram has never tried to prove the Hurricane was equal to or better than the Hemi. So now that battle is lost.

The hood emblems on the sport hood are better integrated than the ones on the regular hood. The problem with the normal hood, is the emblems can't be removed without leaving a big hole to fill.
I don't know why Ram is so intent on putting emblems everywhere. The big tailgate letters are obnoxious, especially in chrome. Black at least mutes them.

The decals are on top of the clear coat, but even on a new vehicle removing decals can leave a ghost image behind. That can be reduced with a fresh wax, especially on something this new. That is a large decal to remove though.
I guess the optimal solution is to find one with the decal delete (a $395 savings on MSRP).

The two-tone paint is an option. So is decal delete (saves $395). You can also get silver and black interior instead of the black and red. Just in case you want your Rebel to look like every other truck on the road without the chrome.
The article has a lot of supposition and the author calls the pickup truck a “rig”. A waste of time reading it.
"Waste of time" because he wanted to use a word other than "Truck" or "Vehicle" once? Don't bother watching Vice Grip Garage I guess.

Ram still has the Big Horn, and other trims, if you want to get chrome. I guess some actual truck buyers might still want chrome.

Now if you guys want something to complain about? On the Limited it's $9000 to get the non-chrome edition because the $3500 Night Edition package also adds the $5500 Level A Equipment Group. Now there's something to actually complain about. Sure, there's a body color bumper group (which IMO should be $0 and not $295) but it doesn't get rid of the chrome grille. I would say it makes the RHO a better deal but not if you want it in Hydro Blue, because the price jumps $9995 when you choose Hydro Blue because you can't get an RHO in Hydro Blue without the RHO Level 1 Equipment Group.

And then the Warlock which looks great can't be had with the bigger screen, or non-cloth interior, or the HO engine.

Glad I'm not shopping for a new truck - who comes up with these ridiculous ideas? Why do there have to be TEN trim levels, with locked-out cab/bed options on many of them... I thought it was hard enough when I ordered my Charger because Dodge had a separate build and price for the Scat Pack and the Scat Pack Widebody. The trucks are even worse. Ridiculous!

It's no different then when I was looking for our GC that we have. You could only get a Hemi in the very top model as I recall. Too bad if you wanted pull a trailer with a lower line models which was just ridiculous. I am one who does like bright on my truck, but if others don't thats okay too.

Sharp looking truck IMO, I don’t mind the black wheels. I don’t doubt the durability of a turbo engine, unlike the people on here who continually piss and moan about it vs the HEMI. I’ve driven several modern turbo cars over the past several years from a variety of brands with mostly positive results.

The ONLY reason I wouldn’t consider this is that it’s a full size pickup, which I absolutely do not want for a variety of reasons. A midsize would have been perfect. Still would be, if they ever get off their a—es and actually build one for the US.

As far as the Hurricane as I’ve said before I have no objection for an in-line 6 in a truck application. My concern is more so with all aluminum construction and twin turbos etc. I’d prefer a nice 5-6 liter displacement iron block iron head single turbo etc. like a Cummins but a gas version. After all for years Cummins mainstay was a 5.9 liter in-line 6 cyl diesel. Cast iron forgives cast alu does not. Any old school mechanic will agree. Stripped threads & corrosion.
Meanwhile my 98 Jeep all cast iron 4.0 six keeps purring away @ 183,000 miles & 27 years old. The least trouble of any engine I’ve owned.

I have to point out that you can change the grille.
Which is what I would do. And then try to recoup the cost by selling the original one. But why isn't the black grille part of the body color bumper package? Or a body color grille?
I agree with the comments about black trim actually costing less than chrome. Price out the emblems and it is evident that the black trim packages are huge profit centers.
I have no problem with them making money off of style choices. That's capitalism. My problem is linking it to unrelated stuff or marking it up to stupid numbers that is just going to cost more for the manufacturer because buyers are just going to buy blackout kits from eBay, and aftermarket wheels (or paint / PlastiDip) and then that's lost revenue for the company because of greed.

The color of trim and the wheels should not require spending 1000's on things you don't want or will never use.
On the GC, if you want ventilated seats on the Limited you have to buy a pano roof and the tech package. The Durango GT Plus package gives you a sunroof and ventilated seats for 1,000's less. I can do without the sunroof or the pano roof. Even though the Durango is old, it suits me fine over spending a lot more because Jeep cheapened the Limited in order to make you spend more on what used to be standard equipment on the Limited, namely the heated and cooled seats.
