What do I need to swap out the in line 727 trans filter to a later model type in the pan? Aluminum case 727.

The 727 never had a trans filter other than the one inside the oil pan. Both lines are on the passenger side of the case. In order to change the filter you have to drop the trans oil pan. You can also drain the torque converter because there is an 1/8th inch pipe plug (I think that's what it is) in the front of the torque converter.

The ' 62 Chrysler/Imperial FSM shows the in trans filter and the text in the manual refers to the service procedure. From my research '64 was the first year that the 727 had the filter in the pan. '62 was the first year for the aluminum case 727.
