I had the original 440 built up in my charger and while it ran like a monster initially, i noticed timing problems began to get worse and worse. To the point where i thought i broke the camshaft because of the god-awfuk sickening sound it made when i went to "stand on it" the last time. I was able to get it back home and tore down the upper half to have found the camwas walking to the tune of causing 15 degrees of timing change.Gears and double row chain seem to be okay, yet as you move it by hand, and a long breaker bar and socket on the crank pulley, you can now physically see the cam walking back out the rear of the block. What did i do or what am i missing?
