Hello all,
I am having an issue with the 2/3 upshift on my torqueflite 727. The 1/2 upshift is very firm and chirps the tires most of the time, but when I shift to 3rd, the shift doesn't occur for maybe half a second. The rpms don't "flare up" during the shift, it just doesn't shift right away. If the lockdown band is too tight, would it cause this? Also, would backing off the band adjustment 1/2 turn be way too much?
The transmission is a later '70s 727 behind a mildly built 400 big block. It has a Cheetah full manual valve body and the line pressure has been adjusted per the instructions that came with the valve body.
