Well I'm changing the lifters on my satellite n I have a question. The ones I pulled out have a single groove. Well the new ones have an extra groove, and so does any other one I find for this motor. They are the exact same in every way but that groove. I was just wondering if that was a design change or something, and if that will matter at all. My mechanic said it shouldn't but I just wanted a second opinion. Thanks.

No, shouldn't harm a thing. There are two oil galleries that run front to back, one on each bank of lifters to feed them, so a groove is needed to allow oil to enter the lifter, two grooves will do the job just as well as one.
