904 transmission lockup V. nonlockup

I would like to know if I can put a non lockup trans into my76 Duster years back My tranny quit working and I bought a 225 super six and trans with a lockup converter out of a 78 VOLARIE . The tranny after 15 yrs gave out now I can purchase a fresh rebuild at agood price that dose not have the lockup conveter can I just take the lockup out and put the trans with non lockup in without any modification's both where attached to 225 slant six's

Since what you are proposing is the original configuration built, I don't see why there would be a problem.

The only differences are internal to the transmission between lockup and non-lockup on these old transmissions. You must have a torque converter that matches the style of transmission you are using.
