Hey guys new poster here, so recently I purchased a 91 Chrysler imperial from a lady who said it needed a new BCM since the digital speedometer is showing but doesnt display fuel, oil pressure, voltage etc. So its basically an outline. I did lots of research and saw other who said their car had multiple things going awry like their vanity light going on, windshield wipers, etc. and I thought it was weird since it was only my digital cluster.

Well long story short I bought a used BCM from Ebay and still, Digital cluster displays a useless outline with no bars filled telling me nothing. I personally haven't checked any fuses or wires or sensors (but it's hard to think it's the sensors since its everything on the cluster) and the seller reassured me it's the BCM.

Any clues where to go next? Should I keep onto this BCM for anything? Thanks for the feedback.

I would then suspect either solder joints at the power or ground pins of the cluster, or the electrical plug(s) connection to the cluster.

I thought so unfortunately..

I'm not well versed in vehicle electronics so do you think it's a task I could possibly (i know how much a hassle it can be to take out an instrument cluster) do or would it be better left to a mechanic?

If you have any soldering skills, you can do it. If you don't feel confident, an electronics repair business would be your best bet.

This type of circuit board repair would not be done at a shop or dealer level. The cluster would simply be removed by the shop and sent out to an electronic repair facility.
I have had good service from United Radio in Syracuse NY. They are an authorized Chrysler electronic repair and exchange depot. There are other depots across the U.S. There may be one closer to you.
Repair and Remanufacturing | United Radio (at http://www.unitedradio.com/automotive-electronics/repair-and-remanufacturing/ )
Contact the facility to see if they would still service something this old and what their repair policy would be.
