Our 1998 Grand Caravan 3.8 AWD intermittently almost shuts down. It throws codes p0201 thru p0206 and p0351, 0352, 0353. Then it will clear up and run fine for a while (long enough to lure me into a test drive.)
i dont have a meter that can read live data but I do have a fluke 88. I have checked batt connections, and inspected all of the connectors in the harness that i have found so far. While the engine stumbles the cruise control light comes on on the gauge cluster and the MIL does not light until after it stops stumbling. I'm willing to take this to a good smart tech but i don't know who this is yet. we live between Lynnwood and Everett, WA.
i've read some things about clocksprings and ignition switches but niether gave the same symptoms i'm getting. i need to fix this quick because my wife is starting to like driving my dodge cummins truck! Or, two truck family?....hmmm

Thanks to both of the replies about my problem. I did all of the above suggestions that I had not already done and repeated a few to be sure. Then I found a friend that had a Chrysler scanner and he found more codes that my cheap scanner would not read. The most telling was a code for the auto shutdown relay. So, we meticulously traced and tested several wires, bypassed the ASD and it still barely ran. then he tried a relay test of the ASD and the Fuel pump relays. The FP relay cycled as asked but the ASD freaked out we the signal was given to closed the relay. Next he noticed that all of the DTCs would clear themselves and then reappear when we would restart the engine. He suggested that I test the ign sw and if that passed then replace the PCM. The switched worked fine so I bought a used PCM with matching numbers and the car has run perfectly for two days now. I've never experienced a PCM failure before but I've heard of many people changing them and not fixing their problem so I was skeptical but, for no reason. Thanks again to all who helped. And thanks to my patient wife. There's a Rubicon in her future.
