A body K member

Hi, I am new on A bodies, I recently buy a 1972 dodge dart slant six. I am thinking to swap a 318 on it. It is possible to use a 1973-1976 A body K member on a 1972 dart? or I had to use 72-down K member (8 cylinder of course) thank you.

If you have a '73 - '76 V8 K-member then use it. One difference of note would be the type of engine brackets as this later model went to the 'fail-safe' style (round insulators) which would require the corresponding brackets off '73 or newer A or B-body car. I would also measure your torsion bar diameter as the stock 6 cyl. bar may be only 0.83" so you should therefore find a pair of 0.87 inchers.

Thank you so much, yes I am aware about the mounts and torsion bars. thank you
There was a company ... Stumacher? That's not right... which made conversion kits. They're somewhere on allpar, probably on the parts list page.

Yes, thank you, I am thinking about to put a 73-76 K member because I want to make a 73-up disc brake conversion also and I want to have a middle sway bar. I know that all is a direct fit, but I have doubt about the K-member
Its a good swap but make sure you use a body spindles and not b body.
Using b body spindles will fit but itll mess up the front geometry and your well handling a body wont handle so well after.
If you going through the trouble of a engine swap, do a 360.
1) 360s are kinda expensive and 318s are cheap and easy enough to modify
2) The manual disc brakes on my '74 are the best brakes I ever had on a premodern car
3) I miss the 300M’s brakes (the 300C and Dart are both a bit touchy)

I have already a 318 from my coronet where I put a 440
Do I have any problem with the steering? I see that the pitmann and idle arm are different, do I have to upgrade to 73-up steering linkage or I can use the pre72 on the 73 k member?
