Just want to get the final word before I install this transmission. Most say it will work with the same shift pattern as the original a520.

Please reply. If it will, I'll pull out the old tranny and do it!!!

Thanks one and all.

The shift PATTERN is the same on the 5-speeds, but the cables may be different lengths - the lengths in different vehicles is different, and sometimes when changing from one transmission to another.

Thanks very much! This trans came out of a turbo Plymouth Voyager, so everything should be OK?? Cables should be just fine (I'm thinking).

Oh, forgot to mention. The trans is going into an 88 Caravan (non-turbo) van.

The 568 uses different shifter and cables. The 520 has reverse beside first and the 568 has reverse below fifth. 1990 568 uses the same clutch disc as the 520 but the 1991 568 and newer uses a larger spline.
520 and 555 are directly interchangeable.

Thanks

They are different. Shift pattern is different due to reverse location, different shifter and cables.
To use the 568 you will need the 568 shifter and cables. 523 will also work.

Thanks

Sorry, my mistake. The A523 and A568 are the same pattern: 135 on top, 24R on bottom.

The A520, A525 are the same: R135 on top, 24 on bottom.

Shouldn't be too hard to find a good used A-520 or even A-555. They come in all 1987 to 1989 2.2 or 2.5 front wheel drive Chrysler vehicles other than L body's (Omni-Horizon-Charger)
I only mention this as the cost of rebuilding will be very expensive.

Thanks
Randy
