I have a 98 GC which has been very reliable. Garaged and with about 88,000 miles. This cold, Chicago morning, I started it and the usual dash light indicators came on then went off as they are supposed to do. All except the ABS light which remained on for the time that I backed the van out of the garage and onto the driveway whereupon I noticed it. I turned the ignition switch of then re-started it. The light came on then went off like usual. A subsequent short trip for coffee and a re-start after parking it and the light lingered a little, upon start up but went off. Thisis the amber light with the ABS sort of in parentheses. The red warning was not a problem.

I did have a battery change about one month ago but had no problems during the change or since so I cannot link the battery with the light. Also, the van turned over like gang busters upon hitting the switch so that tells me nothing wrong with the battery.

I will need some added checks to discern if it happens only during a start up or if it happens again but would appreciate your input.

Thanks for the comments. I will check the fluid and the brake lights. Easy enough. I did let the van sit for about 2 hours and started her up; no problems. But an indication was there and cars don't heal themselves.
