This article got me thinking: with the incredible equity already built into the Challenger name, and the iconic design of the nameplate, it would seem like maintaining both a recognizable face and name would represent the path-of-least-resistance for success of upcoming higher-performance, lighter-weight versions --instead of starting "from scratch" with the upcoming Barracuda

From the sounds of it, the upcoming Barracuda will be a RWD mid-sized sedan. As for a more powerful SRT, they are probably talking about the 6.2L Supercharged Hellcat.
