If you have been holding off on buying a new Ram 1500 until you’ve gotten to check out the all-new 2019 models, your wait is just about over. Earlier this week, dealerships around the country began receiving their first units of the redesigned half-ton Ram and while the availability might be limited early on, it is only a matter of time before dealership lots feature 2019 1500s of all shapes and trim levels.

The First 2019s

So, there is still some patience required if you want to get your ideal 2019 Ram 1500, especially if you want an engine other than the traditional, non-hybrid Hemi.  The first batch of the redesigned Ram trucks are all powered by the non-hybrid Hemi, but that isn’t all that bad, as the 395 horsepower mill continues to be a great powerplant. There is also still no mention of the regular cab design, so right now, you can only pick from the two four-door models.

Right now, there are six available trimlines for the 2019 Ram 1500 – Tradesman, Big Horn, Laramie, Rebel, Laramie Longhorn and Limited. The truck shown in the picture above from our friends at Adventure Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram in Willoughby, Ohio is a Big Horn model and it seems that this volume package is the most common of the trucks being delivered.

In offering the non-hybrid Hemi, the four-door cabs and the volume models early on, it is clear that FCA is making sure to get the trucks with the most popular features and configurations to the dealers before moving onto trucks and features with lower take rates.

In any case, even if you aren’t looking specifically for a Big Horn with the Hemi, the arrival of the first 2019 Ram 1500s at dealerships around the country will allow prospective buyers a chance to check out the truck and drive it – even if they have to wait to actually pull the trigger on buying one.
