19 states have signed contracts with 13 Ram dealers to buy the new Ram 2500 CNG-Hemi pickups, according to a bipartisan group led by Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin and Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper. The states involved are Connecticut, Georgia, Hawaii, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming. Although the total number of vehicles involved in the deals were not disclosed, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper said he expected all 22 states in the coalition to buy up to 10,000 CNG vehicles per year, presumably including passenger cars and heavier-duty vehicles (such as construction equipment). Cummins has been investing in CNG engines for heavy duty commercial vehicles.
