According to Allpar sources, the next-generation Chrysler 200, which is being engineered by both Lancia and Chrysler and is based on the same basic platform and architecture as the Dodge Dart, will have a wider variety of engines than the current model. Originally believed to be sold with just the 3.2 liter V6 and nine-speed automatic, the 2014 or 2015 Chrysler 200 is reported to boast an increased-power Chrysler TigerShark 2.4 (around 200 hp) and either the 3.2 or 3.6 liter V6. The 1.4 liter Fiat engine has reportedly been axed, at least in the United States; it may be used in the Lancia version. The Chrysler 200 will have the nine-speed ZF automatic, and is reportedly going to achieve up to 38 mpg, possibly in a special “HFE” model. In Europe, it will be sold as the Lancia Flavia.
