The 2014 Dodge Charger Pursuit AWD has set a record for the fastest lap time ever recorded (1:33.85) for an all-wheel-drive test sedan at the Michigan State Police’s (MSP) annual Police Vehicle Evaluation earlier this week at Grattan Raceway in Belding, Michigan. The lap times were greater than the turbocharged Ford AWD car. Dodge had the only test cars with lap times under 1:34.

The all wheel drive version of the Charger Pursuit is only available with a 370-horsepower Hemi V8 engine and five-speed Mercedes automatic transmission. An eight-speed automatic is available on civilian V6 cars, but not on Charger Pursuits, including the rear-wheel-drive V6 model. The Charger has a segment-exclusive front-axle-disconnect system to increase gas mileage, and seamlessly transitions between RWD and AWD with no driver intervention.  It is scheduled to be sold to law enforcement customers in Spring 2014. Uhm.. interesting wording. You could take that as 'better than' or 'worse than' .. o_O
