Chrysler Group's February output fell 4.9% led by a 12.2 drop in light truck production that wiped out a 19.1% increase in passenger car assembly. Dodge brand had the largest jump in orders, up 23.7%, while Jeep had the largest deficit for the month, down 26.8% on the discontinuance of the Liberty as well as a steep decline in scheduling of the Patriot. Chrysler production was down across the range except for the Town & Country. Fiat assembly slowed by 17.1%. Ram pickup build increased for both light-duty and heavy-duty trucks and Durango output soared 50.4%. Production of every Dodge passenger car was up by double digits. The SRT Viper, which had its first reported sale in February, has ramped up nicely: the folks at the Conner Ave. plant sent 32 hand-built cars to dealers in February.
