The No. 91 Fast & Furious 6 SRT Viper GTS-R driven by Domnik Farnbacher and Marc Goossens finished third in the GT class at Saturday's American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patron. The No. 93 Pennzoil Ultra Viper, driven by Kumo Wittmer and Jonathan Bomarito finished in eighth place after a couple of time-eating spins knocked them off the pace. The No. 91 Viper led for much of the race before worn tires and dwindling fuel dropped the car behind the RLL team's new BMW Z4 GTE. Then Farnbacher went wide in Turn One, allowing the No. 56 Bimmer to get by and finish second. After the race, Farnbacher said, "We’re still learning but we couldn’t be happier with our result, a podium and third-place. I mean five races ago, we were still further back. W00t!! Go Team Viper/Riley.

Congratulations to the team and the effort. Now... Viper is finally back. It is very unfortunate that the Porshe, apparently, had a magnetic attraction to the 93 car, or it would have had a much better, if not a podium, finish. We can only hope that the VIpers do better, as I am sure they will (but not so good they legislatively castrate it, like has happened to soooo many Mopars). It is too bad for Ferrari. Why didn't they finish better? Odd how hte front engine cars were so much faster than the rear and mid engine cars (but I don't think the finish order had much to do with engine placement).
