In an statement received this morning, Fiat S.p.A. had the following comment on the Bloomberg News report that the company might relocate its headquarters following the planned merger with Chrysler Group: Yesterday, Bloomberg reported that according to some experts Fiat was considering shifting its headquarters to the United States. The claim, which is hardly new, was published by some Italian newspapers this morning and then again this afternoon by various news agencies and internet sites. In actual fact, there is no news to report, since Bloomberg itself stressed that “no final decision on the headquarters has been made and other options are being examined.” This issue, which the world’s media has focused on various times over the past year, is not currently on the agenda, as Fiat’s chief executive Sergio Marchionne recently pointed out.
