I'm way less concerned with who is first (Rover may not be that close) I'm more concerned with quality and performance. If they need the time to get it right (and possibly kill that snout) then by all means, hire Jack and get it fixed).
More importantly, how could they develop all of that ground breaking technology while ignoring the looks of this thing?

No, the 3.2 V6, although the 2.4 might be a possibility at some point.

Can we perhaps keep the comments in this thread focused on the actual topic? There's already a couple other threads were we can all kvetch about how ugly or not the KL Cherokee is.

I would think if it is to redesign the vehicle the launch delay would be greater then what is being proposed?

Of course, we're just trying to plant a seed.
Our 50/50 ratio of love/hate here on Allpar is more like 80/20 hate on general auto boards, so there is more storm coming, but these delays have a lot to do with the new plant, new parts, and Sergio's repeated underestimation of the time to complete these difficult tasks.
500, Dart, Ram 8 speed, Pentastar, 9 speed, 2.4, Grand Cherokee, not one has made the projected date, so it's not a surprise.
...and for the record...this new date will be missed too.

What is up with you pulling out random numbers and percentages lately? You have no idea what the real like to dislike ratio is out there. We get it, you don't like the Cherokee, but stop fabricating numbers.

Hmm, I suppose your random numbers are more valid?
Depending upon the forum and or Blog, the "numbers" run from 90/10 against to 70/30 against and we have the actual poll here on Allpar, which is hardly random, but also hardly representative, at approx, 50/50...AND no less valid than your self interest in trying to paint this pig in a good light.
The problem with the Allpar poll is in the manner in which the questions are asked.
The 16% like and 21% hate are then bridged by the majority which span the poorly asked questions and leave open the possibility of either sitting on the fence (non-committal) to active apathy, which is a very unscientific way to ascertain what the remaining 63% really think.
Numbers are not random, nor are they fabricated, your interpretation may be.
