The replacement for the Jeep Liberty, which some believe will appear as the 2014 Jeep Cherokee, but which we were recently told will be given a completely new name, has been leaked to Jalopnik. The profile is essentially the same as the rendering by JackRatchett which Allpar posted months ago; the headlights are a surprise but the “bent grille” is similar to what has been seen through camouflage. (The headlights are semi-hidden in the black area -- what look like headlights, at the top, appear to be turn signals and daytime running lights.) From the side, the new Jeep bears no small similarity to the new Land Rover -- not surprising since both are subject to the same funcitonal needs. The 2014 Jeep Cherokee, regardless of the name attached to it, will have a 3.2 liter Pentastar V6 and nine-speed automatic, with front wheel drive and optional four wheel..
