AN: New Chrysler recalls

Chrysler Group will recall around 181,000 2012-2013 Jeep Wranglers to prevent premature wear to a transmission oil cooler line caused by rubbing against a power steering component. Discovered during routine testing, the fault has apparently not caused any accidents. A new power steering part will be installed, and if there are any signs of damage, the transmission oil cooler line will be given a protective sleeve or replaced. In addition, the 2010-2012 Jeep Patriot and Compass are being recalled to upgrade software that controls seat belt pre-tensioners and side curtain airbags, because they might not activate during “slow-developing rollovers.” The company is, again, unaware of any complaints or injuries related to this. Chrysler has increased its number of voluntary recalls as it discovers problems during internal testing, or via warranty work.
