Traditionally the lowest-mileage vehicles in an automaker's stable, the new Ram pickups will actually beat Chrysler's minivans in fuel-efficiency. The 2013 Ram 1500, with V6 and eight-speed automatic, will be rated at 18 mpg city, 25 highway -- one mpg city better than the minivans.

The Ram easily ran past the Ford F-150 (17/23) and Chevy Silverado (15/20), with 305 horsepower and no turbocharger. The base price will be $23,585, including destination charges. The current 2012 Ram checked in at 14 city, 20 highway.
