Chalk up another win for Ram and the Pentastar V-6 engine. The 3.6-liter powerplant installed in the Ram 1500 pickup has been named to the 2013 Ward’s 10 Best Engines list. This makes three consecutive years for the Chrysler V-6 and the first time since 2009 that an engine in a full-size pickup made the grade. Incidentally, the 2009 winner was the Ram with the 5.7-liter HEMI winning its sixth award in seven years. "The supremely smooth Pentastar has impressed us in muscle cars, SUVs, CUVs, minivans and luxury sedans, and now it turns in another stellar performance in the fullsize Ram pickup." wrote the WardsAuto editors. Despite the Ram's two-and-a-half tons, the WardsAuto editors said, "..the Pentastar summons a boatload of low-end torque and can tow 6,000 lbs.
