Because when you plays a game, you make an effort to not reveal the contents of your hand.vipermoon64 said:Ya seriously there is no more secretive automaker than them. And i dont like it, can someone remind me why they do that?
I told my mom to get the one on the left. They settled for the light blue version. Fully loaded.ptschett said:My theory: people generally buy cars out of dealer stock, rather than ordering exactly what they want or getting the dealer to find that exact car somewhere else. So it makes sense for dealers to stock cars in colors that they know they have an opportunity to sell to many customers, instead of ordering something that a small percentage likes and a large percentage doesn't like.
FWIW, here's some Darts with interesting colors... I took this picture 2 months ago, and last I looked these 2 cars were still there at my local CDJR dealer.

- The next-gen Compass/Patriot is CUSW, like the Dart, which uses a 6F24.
This is correct. It was cheaper for Chrysler to get the Hyundai transmission as a stop gap until production of the 9 speed was started. KL gets the first application and it will trickle down to the rest of the FWD based lineup as production ramps up.MoparNorm said:My understanding was that the 6F24 was used as a stop gap until the 948 was ready.
KL uses the 948, so there is no reason the Compass replacement can't also use it AND use the PTO mated to it.
Good find - what happened - did we become so conditioned by real estate agents that you have to go with neutral colors.CherokeeVision said:Two photos that prove the US used to like colors on their cars.

I do like the blue. Reminds me of my Dad's early 80's Ford LTD... Only brighter.LoganSix said:I told my mom to get the one on the left. They settled for the light blue version. Fully loaded.
Ahh...the 6F24 wrapped in a car that doesn't make me want to take my glasses OFF before looking at it (I'm severely nearsighted).Sean said:The 6F24 is made by Hyundai in South Korea. If you look at the build sheet on any Dart with the 2.0 and automatic, you'll see the USA/Canadian parts listed at 50 something percent. Not good for North American content.
The Compass/Patriot will get the 6F24 because they will be getting the Tigershark engines and are assembled at the same factory as the Dart.
As for the 200/Avenger, I don't know...yet. I'd like to see the 62TE to help keep the domestic parts content up.
Think about it this way, what good will releasing future info do for the Chrysler of today?vipermoon64 said:Ya seriously there is no more secretive automaker than them. And i dont like it, can someone remind me why they do that?
Depends on which light blue you mean.. xDJeff2KPatriotBlue said:I do like the blue. Reminds me of my Dad's early 80's Ford LTD... Only brighter.
