Yes, that would be correct.
??? Not the 948?
Or is that not until the new platform changes?

Ya seriously there is no more secretive automaker than them. And i dont like it, can someone remind me why they do that?
Because when you plays a game, you make an effort to not reveal the contents of your hand.

Not saying this is why, but:
  • The next-gen Compass/Patriot is CUSW, like the Dart, which uses a 6F24.
  • The Compass/Patriot is built on the same line as the Dart - common parts = reduced complexity in building.
  • The 6F24 is (I believe) compatible with the Magna AWD system currently used exclusively by Hyundai/Kia through the 2013 model year.
  • Of course, none of that has anything to do with the new old 200 or the new new 200. Maybe.

My theory: people generally buy cars out of dealer stock, rather than ordering exactly what they want or getting the dealer to find that exact car somewhere else. So it makes sense for dealers to stock cars in colors that they know they have an opportunity to sell to many customers, instead of ordering something that a small percentage likes and a large percentage doesn't like.

FWIW, here's some Darts with interesting colors... I took this picture 2 months ago, and last I looked these 2 cars were still there at my local CDJR dealer.

I told my mom to get the one on the left. They settled for the light blue version. Fully loaded.

I like the 200hp 2.4L Tigershark, wish they brought that forward right now to bump the Dart R/T to 200hp.

Closer... get rid of the tips all together. Chrome "C" are more squared off and the tips of the "Cs" are extended about three to four more inches towards each other. Put an body line where you had the chrome bar before JackRachett. License plate will go underneath that line on the trunklid. Taillamps are more rounded towards where the license plate goes and are very dark looking. The chrome "Cs" have a bumper reflector in them under the top part of the "Cs". The body line that runs next to the taillamp and the rear quarter panel, extended that another 25% down the rear of the car and round it into the bottom of the trunklid and you shall have something that looks very very close to the next Chrysler 200.

The car will also have a body color attenna just above the middle of the rear window similar to this one...

If you are near to the CTC Auburn Hills HQ, take a ride around that campus and the test oval in the back of the property towards Squirel Road... a lot of prototypes have been on the roads lately!

KL uses the 948, so there is no reason the Compass replacement can't also use it AND use the PTO mated to it.

This is correct. It was cheaper for Chrysler to get the Hyundai transmission as a stop gap until production of the 9 speed was started. KL gets the first application and it will trickle down to the rest of the FWD based lineup as production ramps up.

The 6F24 is made by Hyundai in South Korea. If you look at the build sheet on any Dart with the 2.0 and automatic, you'll see the USA/Canadian parts listed at 50 something percent. Not good for North American content.

The Compass/Patriot will get the 6F24 because they will be getting the Tigershark engines and are assembled at the same factory as the Dart.

As for the 200/Avenger, I don't know...yet. I'd like to see the 62TE to help keep the domestic parts content up.
Ahh...the 6F24 wrapped in a car that doesn't make me want to take my glasses OFF before looking at it (I'm severely nearsighted). :)
There are several things I like about the new Dart, like the really cool taillights and dashboard. Radio/nav computer controls look friendlier too (than similar cars). On the other hand, I equate the idea of a Hyundai tranny in a Dart to Hustler magazines in a church. Something called Dodge Dart ought to have a domestic-parts content in the 90s!
I'd take the '13 DD over most of its competitors. I'd rather have a 1967-76 Dart however.

Think about it this way, what good will releasing future info do for the Chrysler of today?

I saw a neon green Dart at the dealer when I was there to get my oil changed. I love the Dart but not in that color. The two pictured above don't do it for me either. Everybody has complimented me on picking a grey Charger. Everyone just love it in that color.

I do like the blue. Reminds me of my Dad's early 80's Ford LTD... Only brighter.
Depends on which light blue you mean.. xD
ALSO another FAIL by the photoshop-department of the Dodge website. These colors look NOTHING like the website renditions. lol
