It's a 1980's 4wd vehicle what mileage do you expect it to have? To be fair it's not a glorified gremlin. Many people enjoyed them including my friends family that owned them back in the 80's, it was very durable.
There was quite a few of them in my area back in the day, I think they were a vehicle that was ahead of their time. The wagons seemed to be particularly popular here in the great Northeast.
Id seen an eagle wagon still plated / inspected while driving through my old neighborhood about a year ago. I stopped to drool. I wonder if these american 4x4 / AWD cars could compete with the Subaru crowd if they were modernized...
My college roommate had a 73 Gremlin with the six cylinder and 3 speed floor shift manual trans. He abused the hell out of that car and it just kept going. The driveshaft fell out of it in 1981, so his Dad donated it to the Salvation Army and gave Hunter a 1978 Pontiac Grand Prix. What a pile of junk that was!
