Ugh, that "review" was difficult to read. She's the definition of the mainstream appliance buyer that simply has a preference for the same brand that I prefer.

I couldn't relate to this article at all... :(
Regardless, its positive press for a Chrysler product. She even said she would buy another one.

Lots of people trust her, and pay attention to what she says. Who knows, maybe it might sway some to look at a Caravan or other Chrysler product.

Oh don't get my wrong, any good press is good. I just have an extremely difficult time relating to a person that would dismiss a vehicle because it has a cruise control stalk (among her points regarding other issues).

The author and I are on totally separate wavelength lol.

User interface is important... I would not dismiss that.

I think that the trust factor of this one is important - she is in the "advice" buisiness... some of these celebrity "my car" reviews by actors, musicians, sports stars go more to image - this one goes to logic.

To be honest, I hate the cruise control stalk in my Caliber. For what it's worth lol

Anyone here watch Fifth Gear and see its review of the Chrysler 300C a couple weeks ago? Worst reviewed car ever on the show.

While I will asy that the whole review absolutely STANK of bias its still somewhat bad press.

Nice to see a positive review!

On the other hand, I like the Toyota style Cruise stalk. My Journey had it, as well as the Sebring. My favorit Cruise setup was in my 2002 Sebring Convertible, the best by far!

I could tell the bias as soon as they started talking. And they also trotted out the old "it's an American body on an old E-Class" garbage right off the bat.

But then again, since Fifth Gear is pretty much just a rip-off of Top Gear - and they play the old "American cars are garbage" bit to the hilt (and EVERY UK car show does this, so none of them are original about it) - I can't take it all that seriously.

While that review was full of hyperbole about how "bad" the car was, they do have a point when you consider how much it costs in the UK. It starts 36,000 GBP, that's $55,000! A BMW 525D starts at 35,500 GBP and gets "56 mpg" compared to the 300c's "40 MPG". The BMW costs the same, gets far better fuel economy - and let's be honest - probably still is a nicer place to be. The way some of those plastic panels in that 300C came off with little effort is embarrassing.

If they want the 300 to take hold in the UK/Europe, they really need to ramp quality up, or drop the price.

I drove my sisters '10 Avenger today to get a feel for some "issues" she was having... The cruise stalk is exactly the same design as my Sebring, but the Avengers was flimsly and banged against the steering wheel if you canceled too briskly. The stalk on my Sebring has a good firm "springy" feeling, and moves smoothly, and its a good 8 years older... But the best I've driven that I enjoy was a 95 Minivan with the buttons on the bottom of the airbag... And then a 2012 Avenger and Fusion. I loathe the gm design old and new...

Yeah, the current cruise controls are much better, plus they are illuminated at night!
