If you watch Trans Am racing, you may see more Dodge Challengers soon; American V8 Road Racing and “the Trans Am Race Company presented by Pirelli” will have contingency awards for the upcoming 2018 championship.

The Dodge Challenger body debuted in the 2017 season with Jeff Hinkle’s #9 car.  Jeff is the owner and driver of American V8 Road Racing; he said he had invested $500,000 in developing the car and engine package, and raced it in the 2017 season to make sure it was well tuned and bug-free.

American V8 Road Racing will provide cash awards to podium-finishing TA class competitors with their chassis under the Dodge Challenger body, with $1,000 going to the first place winner, $500 to the second, and $250 to the third place finisher in each event. If they buy their Dodge engine from American V8 Road Racing, they can get another $500, $250, or $125, depending on how they place.
