There is a slight resemblance to Jack RATCHETT's copper colored 200 (from the side view).
I didn't think we would see this car until the 2015 MY. If it looks anything like those drawings or JKack Ratchetts, I want one, lol.
Will it be the first car with front and rear daytime running lights???
The comments were interesting, I don't think there were any haters out there according to them.
The 200 and Avenger are out dated, a new model is a must have ! Or sell the current models at bargain basement prices like they are
doing :excited:

What do you feel is outdated about them?
I think the drawings have more of a 300 look 9Side profile nails it!!) than any 200/Sebring I'm familiar with. I really dislike the front grill as I do the grilles on the new Lincoln models. You can tell the artist is very familiar with the Lincoln line of autos.

A lot is. Just get in one and then go get in a Dart. They still FEEL old and cheap, and the layout just doesn't look great. Is it a perfectly functional car? Absolutely. Is it a bargain and steal at current prices? Yes.

That doesn't make it a great car. This is especially true of the Avenger.

I beg to differ, please read my comments on the 200 rental thread, and remember that this is a very base model. Also, what makes you think that a 6 year old platform is old, since the 300 is based on an 8 year old platform, and the Dart, while revised, is on an equally old Guillieta platform?

I agree 100%
As I have said on numerous occasions. Is it better than the Sebring? Absloutely!!!! Is it best in class...not even close....
with price and rebates not being a factor ask your self a simple question would you buy it before
Mazda 6
New Fusion
New Altima
New Accord
Optima or Sonata or Camry

just becuase we are selling a ton of them does not mean it is a great car it means we are doing a great job selling them(nearly 4k of rebates and disscounts helps) We cant let the number fool us and become complacent. We need the new 200 ASAP if we want to effictively improve the image of the Chrysler brand.

The car is outdated and we do need the new car asap. I have a 2012 200 Ltd and I had a 2010 300 Touring before that. My 200 is a nice car, but sometimes I wish I had my old 300 back. It now belongs to my daughter, so I still get to ride in it once in a while. I just don't like the feel of the 200 on the road. I can't put my finger on exactly why, but the car feels unbalanced to me. The powertrain 3.6 L and 6 speed auto is fantastic and the interior is a lot nicer than the old 300 was, but I just don't like this car when you compare it to cars that I have had in the past. I just might try a Dart, The only thing I am afraid of with a Dart is the room inside. Both my wife and I are large people and interior room is important. That brings up another thing I don't like about the 200. I am 71 years old and not too flexible any more, and I always hit my head on the top of the door opening when I get in. It really annoys me. I can't wait to get a new car.
OK, so they "feel" old, the layout (of what?) seems to be lacking, and the Dart is newer.

Is that it?

The 200 is old...it lacks all of the good things that the Dart and 300 possess
No back up camera
no 8.4 screen
no heated sterring wheel
no passenger power seat
no HID's
no blind spot monitoring
no option for chrome wheels(that one still perplexes me) on 200
worst in class fuel econmy (31...38 is the new benchmark)

and lastly
You can defend the vehicle all you want, and again, I don't think its a terrible vehicle, just desperately needs updating. The dash, while a GIANT leap forward from the Sebring is still not great, and the plastic surround to the radio/hvac etc is extremely cheap and develops rattles. At least in the 200 they paint it, so it looks better, but in the Avenger, its an eyesore.

The radios are old, and too complicated to do simple things. The list of missing features that CJD pointed out is another not to mention that gas mileage is nothing fantastic and the NVH of the 4 cylinder/6 speed combo is not great and that SHOULD BE the top selling combo. The fact that the vehicle maxes out at 30mpg highway is also outdated, christ the Charger/300 with a V6 does better than the 4 cylinder 200/Avenger.

The price is great, and again, it is a fantastic bargain atm, but thats it. If it wasn't incentivized so aggressively they wouldn't sell at all and THAT, is the sign of a vehicle that desperately needs help.

And don't even get me started on the 200 Convertible... That thing is ghastly.

Got to agree, it wasn't the top of the class when it came out and hasn't aged well. Fiat did a wonderful job polishing it up to bridge the gap until it can be replaced.

Really doesn't feel like a better car than the original Cloud cars. I am a Mopar homer also, and the best thing that often comes to mind is a great value. Now is it a bad car, NO .. it just isn't that good.

You missed one, no dual-zone ATC, that one bothers me too because my wife and I can never agree on what the temp should be set at. You are wrong about the wheels though, my Limited has beaitiful 18 " polished aluminum wheels that look better than a lot of cars at that price range, and they are standard equipment on that model.
