We don’t “know” that it’s dead after 2019. Why discontinue it before the Charger and Challenger are redesigned so there will be a void in plant space?
And that only makes sense if the Charger and Challenger are delayed again. **spoiler alert**

They weren’t coming out after the 2019 model year. There will be 2020 versions of the current cars... that is not new information. Which means the 300 will live for at least one model year after 2019.

In that case, I don't get the need to make it appear as if the 300 is alive and well. We know it's dead after 2020. (h/t to Ryan)

It’s alive for now, at least. Like everyone on here likes to say, it ain’t official till it’s official. Anything could happen between now and 2021.

So what are we saying here? Challenger/Charger will be a MY22 and not MY21 models?
I don’t know about that. Most of the information on other sites indicates that the Charger and Challenger will live on through 2020 MY in their current form.

This is information from someone who knows who they are talking about:
What We Know About The Next Generation Dodge Charger: - Mopar Insiders (at https://moparinsiders.com/what-we-know-about-the-next-generation-dodge-charger/ )

I was looking at a 17 CPO corporate car fully loaded for 25K dollars with a 100k mile warranty and 16k miles. There is no incentive to purchase a new 18 model, or even a 19 model that has not changed. I understand that Chrysler needs models and noting there are two new vehicles will hit the lot for 2020. Currently, as a consumer, there is nothing that will draw me to the lot.

Yes, I have read it. Not having the two of the insiders here thanks to the few who were rude with them, I don't know R. Miller status as to inside info. He did indicate as you stated, MY21 for both models and an MY20 300 model.

If this is the case, Chrysler for MY20 will have four models. Then in MY21, the 300 will be dead and the MY21 Portal will replace it. Still retaining the four models.

That is @redriderbob who wrote that and yes, that site is where I get all of my information now.

The problem is 300 already is facing slow sales. The uncertainly about the nameplate's future does nothing to encourage sales, so it becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy. Few want to buy a car that's going to be orphaned which increases the chances of it being orphaned. $6k on the hood hasn't really boosted sales so the writing is on the wall - the only question is when.

Even Ram and Cherokee are showing it's hard to recover from heavily discounting the old model without applying discounts to the new model quickly.

Don't forget the heavy discounting on the new Compass that has destroyed resale values.

You can pickup a used Compass Trailhawk with under 10k miles for $25k......sticker is $36k

You sure about that? I've been repeatedly assured that crossovers don't need discounts and rebates and that the margins are just super duper.

This thread is about the 2019 Chrysler 300, not the margins of crossovers. Please take that off topic discussion somewhere else.

You heard him Latranyi. Take that nonsense somewhere else.
I guess discussing heavy discounting and its effect on resale and future new models is not related to the Chrysler 300 because it is not being affected by heavy discounting.

If you want to discuss the 2019 Chrysler 300, perfect. If you want to complain about Jeep resale values and profit margins, this is not the place for that. There are plenty of other threads for those discussions.
