Per the Motor Trend article mentioned in the link:

The change comes at the direction of Chrysler Brand CEO Chris Feuell who came into the job with a new eye and rulebook she wants to play by. "Chris came at it with her perspective which we really enjoyed," Gilles says. "She wanted a statement that had literally zero to do with anything that you have seen today, even the Airflow concept car. It is evolving in a new direction."
But it had BRONZE accents!

This is the story quoted by Jalopnik.
One of the commenters said exactly what I always thought: Why would they name a new car after a flop? It would be like Ford calling the new Maverick "Edsel".

So the 2025 Vehicle we thought was the Airflow coming, is not the Airflow, but something totally different, but is still coming in 2025. Am I understanding that right?

So are they just pivoting, or are they going back to Square One(TM)?
They have absolutely no idea what to do with Chrysler...................

I'm not even running Chrysler and I have a decent idea what to do with them. Liftbacks and hatchbacks prioritizing range and space. Make the cars look small on the outside (compared to most SUVs) but maximize range 400-500+ range, and liftback cargo and fold flat seats.
So are they just pivoting, or are they going back to Square One(TM)?
So it's back to square 1 as far as anything new from Chrysler!?!

So this is on STLA Large instead of the RU Airflow. So its a platform sister with the Charger/Challenger EV replacement?
I liked the look of it but wasn't sold on the name especially since it wasn't quite the innovation the original Airflow was. I just hope they don't continue to drag their feet on new product with the 300 ending soon. The clock is ticking on their 10 year timeline with nothing to show so far.

Just wondering, guys, I'm thinking of reskinning the Imperial and Dynasty as lifted Flying Spurs instead of lowered (and almost squashed) Wagoneers to give them better proportions. Thoughts?

I didn't care for the name or the looks of the vehicle. My guess is they HAD to start over. This was one of their half baked ideas built on an existing platform, which isn't very good to start with. Conceived before the merger. So now it's on to a modern modular platform, so it should be much better for them.

Well, to be fair, the original Maverick wasn't exactly Ford's greatest moment either.

At least Chrysler Airflow was revolutionary in its day.

Better now than later.

The two weakest brands in Stellantis's portfolio, Chrysler and Lancia, also provide the greatest opportunity to try all-new approaches.

They have absolutely no idea what to do with Chrysler...................
I think the opposite: the fact that Ms. Feuell put a stop at a highly paraded concept suggests that (1) she has figured out what Chrysler needs, and (2) she has the courage to put her foot down.

My hope is that she was able to deconstruct what made 2005 Chrysler 300C so widely successful, and plotted a path forward for the brand in the age of electrification.

What Chrysler always meant to me was affordable/ obtainable personal luxury. Clean conservative but gothic design, without being ostentatious.
a car for someone who knows what it’s like to work until your hands bleed, not for the guy that rolls boogers and flicks them out the window at people
