Problem is, it was a good business decision. Sales were at a high of 70,000 in 1989, by the last year they were 10,000 and had fallen every year since 1990. The 4-speed auto problems, the 3.0 V-6 with valve and oil problems, plus poor acceptance of the last interior, IMO, is what hurt it. And they removed inexpensive features that people liked, to save money.
