Dodge Ram Interstate Rated pickup trucks

Created by Performance West Group, the Dodge Ram 3500 Interstate Rated was based on the Dodge Ram 3500 Mega Cab 1-ton Dually 4x4. The Cummins 610 diesel engine produced 325 horsepower with 610 ft/lb of torque at just 1600 rpm; at just a whisper above idle, the Ram 3500 Interstate Rated could clean-break over 11 tons of rolling weight.

Produced by a bailment pool converter, it was supposedly to be made available from Dodge dealers nationwide, but does not appear to have been produced for the public. The cost was reportedly to be around $8,000 above the Ram on which it was based, which would not be a bad deal given the extras.

The six-speed manual transmission was enhanced with a Gear Vendors Overdrive that split the shift points of five of the six forward gears; the driver could select the exact engine speed range for steep grades or flat freeways. A heavy duty clutch harnessed the transmission, and Stainless Steel Brakes Corp brakes worked in concert with the Jacobs Engine Brake.

The company claimed, "The Ram 3500 Interstate Rated can effortlessly pull a World Cup Challenge boat, the most luxurious camper or a trailer suitable for a herd of horses without breaking a sweat."

With its raised roof, five inch exhaust stacks, custom front fender flares, and SRT10 hood, the Interstate Rated resembled a big rig more than a standard pickup. It had a dual exhaust and 19.5" Rickson Truck Accessory forged dually wheels under custom front fender flares (and factory rear fender flares).

The Dodge grille was altered with polished billet bars by B-Cool Billets. The rear door glass was eliminated to create a sleeper cab appearance; the doors still worked normally.

Katzkin Tuscany leather covered seats were heated and cooled, with a massage feature. The audio system included a Jensen 23 inch video screen in the raised roof, over the reclining second row of seating; the truck had a Mopar Navus Navigation System.

Valley Hitch's underbed fifth wheel system was included, with bracing moved to the frame so the cargo area could be empty when the fifth wheel was removed. The truck also had an AMP Research BedStep and Mopar bed mat.
