The first official trailer for the ninth Fast and Furious movie came out yesterday and it is chock full of interesting performance cars. Dodge also rolled out the brand’s first commercial that includes footage from F9, showing many of those same performance machines. Many people are hung up on the widebody Charger with a Demon-like hood and the ridiculous stunts being executed by pretty much every vehicle, but there is a more important vehicle shown in the new Dodge ad.

Dodge Durango Hellcat

The new Dodge ad, which you can watch below, is titled “Dodge House of Power” and it is connected in the title to “The Fast Saga”.  There are tons of shots of Dodge performance vehicles flexing their muscles, including the Hellcat Charger, the Hellcat Challenger, a 1966 Charger, a 1968 Charger, an SRT Durango and many others.

Dodge Durango Hellcat

The most significant vehicle, in my humble opinion, appears at the 18-second mark of the Dodge commercial. At first, we see the fender of a Durango with the Hellcat head logo on the fender, followed by a quick glimpse of the shadowy SUV speeding out of the frame. As quickly as the Hellcat Durango appears, it is gone, replaced by a clear shot of the widebody Charger with the Demon hood that everyone is talking about. That Charger draws many people’s attention away from the quick shot of that Durango, but we think that this is Dodge’s first hint that a supercharged three-row SUV is on the way.

We are coming into major auto show season, starting with Chicago then followed by New York City and Detroit. We have heard a rumor that the Hellcat Durango may be introduced at one of these shows. This video seemingly suggests that Dodge is planning a Durango with the 707-horsepower supercharged Hemi.

Once again, thanks to Rich S. for the heads up on this teaser!
