Drive plates, are all created equal?

Have a 76 B300 with a 360 and a 727. Putting a A518 ( 46RH ),out of a 91 B350 5.9, in and found my drive plate does not fit the new torque converter which is a lock up type.

This surprised me a little, but in 15 years things might change.

One hole in the plate is offset to prevent wrong transmissions from being installed.
They didn't have lock-up in 1976.

It's not about the transmission. It's about the engine. Externally balanced ones require the offset drive plate (or flywheel) as well a balance weighted damper and converter or flywheel for engine balance.
